On Passion

imageThis post is for the passionate among us. Those that will sacrifice everything for that one person or that one thing. Who have risked it all in the past and been hurt because of it. I have been that person, I have risked absolutely everything and been left out in the cold one too many times. So now I implore you passionate ones, follow your heart but take your brain with you.

I know you, you’re a very all-or-nothing person. There is no in-between with you. You’ve invested into people and things that didn’t really care too much or were just simply not meant for you. Your passion is an inherent characteristic of yours, it is in your DNA and it’s who you are. I’m not going to tell you to abandon who you are. Truth is, there is not enough passion in the world and the world needs to see more of it. So don’t change yourself, but remember yourself.

Remember to value your self. Not just that one thing, but your whole life as a whole. As the title of this blog suggests, there is so much more to us than just one thing. Each of us is a mosaic of all we have seen, all we have heard, all we have been through. Not just one thing. So don’t get so caught up in chasing this one thing you forget how wonderfully multifarious your life is. It’s so easy to neglect everything else but what use is a thumb without the fingers? Remember to question why? Why am I giving this much into this? Does this person or thing require my all? Is my ego playing up? If I give this my all and don’t get anything back, will it still be worth it?

Finding something to be passionate about is one of the most beautiful things in life. But to whom much is given, much is required, and this is true for how you handle your passion. Be wise. Your passion is too valuable to be wasted on unworthy things.
